Wasim Akram is considered by many to be the Best Left Arm Fast Bowler
ever to take part in the game. Off good height, he can be
deceptively quick..He is able to generate bounce and movement
on any kind of track, which is remarkable. Be it off a short run or
a lenghy run, he can generate the same amount of pace and is very
difficult to hit around. Named the Wisden Cricketer of the year in 93,
Wasim has had his share of problems with the cricket board as well.
There have been allegations of match fixing aginst him which led to
him quitting the captaincy earler this season. Toodate, no charges
stand proved and all rumours about his being involved in any kind
of betting, are basless and utterly foolish. Its sad to see how
we, as the cricketing public, and the cricket board, seem to take
pleasure in destroying our players rather than encouraging them.
Nevertheless, Wasim Akram is a tremendoes player..He has a double
hundred to his name in Test Matches and is the highest wicket taker
in One Day Internationals. He is till going strong, and no doubt,
will break many more records before he decides to call it quits.
A fine Pakistan Legend..Wasim Akram.
